BREVETTO BREVETTO DUOMO-STELVIO CHALLENGE

RULES

ART. 1 – The BREVETTO DUOMO-STELVIO CHALLENGE is an itinerary for cycle tourists created by 

Team 100.1 SSD a RL (hereinafter Organizer) which allows you to get your name registered in the roll of honor of the BREVETTO DUOMO STELVIO CHALLENGE and the medal after completing the Duomo-Stelvio route.

ART. 2 – The BREVETTO DUOMO-STELVIO CHALLENGE is neither a sport event nor a competitive or non-competitive event. It does not include any time limit or any kind of prizes.

ART. 3 – Participation in the BREVETTO DUOMO-STELVIO CHALLENGE is free and open to the exclusive responsibility of the cyclist and the route – due to its length and difficulty – requires an adequate level of physical preparation and training.  Therefore the choice of participation is an individual responsibility of each cyclist.

ART. 4 – The participation in the BREVETTO DUOMO-STELVIO CHALLENGE is possible via the online registration link by paying the fee of EUR 10,00 (once paid it cannot be refunded) and gives the right to complete the BREVETTO within 10 calendar days from the date of registration. Once the fee has been paid, participant will receive the GPS track and instructions via email.

ART. 5 – You can ride the BREVETTO DUOMO-STELVIO CHALLENGE from June to October, or in any case in the period in which the road to the Stelvio Pass from Bormio is open; it is participant’s responsibility to previously check the traffic situation of the road S.S. 38 DELLO STELVIO, BORMIO – PASSO STELVIO SECTION.

ART. 6 – By registering online and approving the appropriate point, You declare that You have carefully read and approved the contents of these Regulations and that You approve the relevant declarations contained in the declaration of awareness of assumption of risk and release of liability, as well as to be in possession of a medical certificate certifying the suitability to practice the competitive sport activity of cycling.

ART. 7 – The BREVETTO DUOMO-STELVIO CHALLENGE has to be achieved by covering the Duomo-Stelvio route on the same day, which means approximately 230 km with 3400 mt. D+, starting from Milan Piazza Duomo and arriving at the Stelvio Pass – Cima Coppi. The route, in short: from Milan to Lecco is slightly hilly. From Lecco to Colico along the Como Lake, mostly flat. From Delebio to Bormio You will cycle the «Sentiero Valtellina» path for approximately 100 km. In Bormio starts the legendary climb of the Stelvio (21.5 km, 1553 mt. D+) up to the famous Cima Coppi – Passo dello Stelvio, the finish line. 

ART. 8 – The route will be certified by photos/selfies upon departure from Piazza del Duomo in Milan and by photos/selfies upon arrival at the Stelvio Pass – Cima Coppi and by sending the GPS track (Garmin, Strava etc.) of the itinerary traveled. Everything (photo/selfie and GPS track) to be sent via email… ,

ART. 9 – The finisher will receive the finisher’s medal at his/her address and will have his/her name published in the roll of honor published on the site.

ATTENTION

ART. 10 – All roads along the route are always open to traffic circulation in both directions. It is therefore highly recommended to respect the traffic regulations, to respect the regulations for the use of the cycle (and pedestrian)-path of the Sentiero Valtellina- Comunità Montana di Sondrio, to wear the helmet, paying attention when cycling the whole itinerary.

Do not throw papers and waste on the path.

In any case, the Organizer assumes no responsibility for any damage suffered or caused nor for any accidents occurring during the activity relating to the BREVETTO DUOMO-STELVIO CHALLENGE. Responsibility for damages and injuries therefore remains exclusively to the individual cyclist.

ART. 11 – The roads of the BREVETTO DUOMO-STELVIO CHALLENGE are in good conditions and do not present particular dangers or problems. It is necessary, however, to always pay high attention when following the itinerary, checking preliminarly with the Police and ANAS.

ART. 12 – We recommend to check the weather conditions before departure with particular regard to the Stelvio Pass; it is not recommended to cycle the route with bad weather conditions.

Furthermore we advise to cycle in group, the route is very demanding, and to carry adequate and sufficient solid and liquid food resources with you.
